Christmas times 4!

Whew - what a great Christmas we had - all 4 of them!!

We celebrated with Tom's family on Christmas Eve, had our own Christmas morning celebration, then went on to Barb and Don's house on Christmas Day for my Mom's family get together, and finally we had my immediate family celebration at Gramma and Papa's on Saturday.

The boys had a really good time at all of them, they really got into the opening presents this year and it was so fun to watch them! Of course they got way spoiled by everyone - but they love all the gifts they got. Some of their favorites are their train table, super hero capes, their Harley Davidson scooters, their "diggers", and all the cool cars! Thank you to everyone for all the wonderful gifts!

I put together a slide show of some of the pictures from all our Christmas fun, actually it was all the pictures that i could fit into one, so I will have to do another post with the photos from Gramma and Papa's house maybe tomorrow.

I hope everyone had just as wonderful and family filled Christmas as we did!

BTW - the photos with Santa were taken at A&R Portraits - the pictures there are always great!

Merry Christmas!

Oh, as our sweet little Jack and Quent slumber upstairs, exhausted from our first Christmas celebration this evening, Tom and I find ourselves in the typical parent trap of wrapping gifts and assembling toys into the wee hours of Christmas Eve night.
But nothing can compare to seeing those precious, excited faces on Christmas morning, right?

Best wishes for a Merry Christmas to you all - friends and family in our real life and our friends in the blogging world!

Here comes Santa Claus...RUN!

We went to our Mothers of Multiples Christmas celebration and had a fun time on Thursday night. Jack and Quent ran around with lots of other kids and had lots of good treats. Well, Santa made an appearance too. It took us a long time of looking at Santa and watching the other kids see Santa to want to try to see Santa ourselves. When the time finally came...

Quent had a little talk with Santa.

"Where is Mrs. Claus?"
"She is at home making spaghetti for my dinner."

"Quentin, what would you like for Christmas?"
"I like toys!"
(could not have been more perfect even if I coached him)

"Cheese Santa!"

Jack said, "No Fanks!" and ran away! Maybe some other time, good try Jack!
He did pose for a lovely picture in the next room, though!

Sloppy Joe, Slop, Sloppy Joe, yeah

Remember that Lunch Lady song that Adam Sandler sang on Saturday night live?
The one where Chris Farley was the lunch lady?

Tom got a hairnet and a beardnet when he toured the sugar factory for work,
then he brought them home for the boys to see.
I couldn't help but think of that sketch as they were running around with the hairnets on!
We were laughing like crazy, even as I post this I am laughing!
Go on have a good laugh too!

Sing along, "sloppy joe, slop, sloppy joe, yeah!!"

Happy Baby Shower Amy!

My bestest gal pal, Amy, had her baby shower this past Saturday (Greg was there too, just so he doesn't feel left out of my post!). It was a beautiful celebration, her Mom, Charlie, and friend, Deb, made a wonderful soup and salad lunch - all homemade and yummy!
Amy and Greg got some really great stuff for little Baby H, and now all there is to do is wait for a few more weeks unitl the baby arrives!

Since the shower was kind of far away, my contribution to the festivities was the cake. the baby's room (they don't know if its a boy or girl - it'll be a big surprise!) is done in the John Lennon's Real Love Collection theme. Its his drawings of animals - giraffe, elephant, lion, etc. it is really sweet.

Anywhoo - the cake - she wanted a giraffe cake and i was sure that I could figure out a cute one. Now it is not styled after the John Lennon giraffe, but i think it turned out cute anyway!

Congratulations Amy and Greg!

In the Christmas mood

We have had our tree up for a while, and I had pictures on the blog ready to be captioned and posted, but have not had enough time to devote to getting everything done. So, here are some pictures of our tree and of Tom reading with the boys.

They are so enthralled when Tom reads to them, the two of them will sit there and get one book after another for Daddy. Its pretty cute to watch them all curled up together on the couch :)

Jack and Quent posing in front of the tree, they are so hard to pose for pictures lately, so this is as good as it gets. Still pretty darn cute though!
yep, we have the fake tree, Momma's allergic to the pine (and most everything else :)

I am not sure how this one will look, but it is Jack in front of the Christmas Tree with no flash. I was trying to get some cute shots of their face in the glow of the tree, but every time I tried they would move or get very close to the camera.

Here is my helper man! Quent has loved to help unload the dishwasher lately, and he does a great job bringing the dishes to Momma to put away. He is so proud of himself and Momma is proud of him too!

Well, I have some more photos all loaded up and waiting for me to get up on the blog so I will try to work on those soon and get a little bit caught up before I have all the holiday celebration pictures to share!

Let it Snow!

Here are some pictures of the boys getting out to play in the snow. one from last year and some from the other day. I think they really didn't remember it from last year too much. Which is a good thing because they hated it last year, refused to walk around in it, and Jack cried the entire time. See photo below.

These pictures were from earlier this week when it not as bitterly cold as it is today (18 degrees!) but still it was cold enough for us to only be able to stay out for 30 minutes or so before they were asking to go back in. They had a lot of fun figuring this cold, white stuff out! What a difference a year makes!

Tessa's Big Birthday Bash!

Tessa is ONE year old!!

We had the big party at our house over the weekend and Tessa was loving being the center of attention, but then who doesn't! We had lots of family over, It was a fun time! I can't believe she is already a year old. She is literally the happiest baby I have ever seen and so much fun to be around!
Happy Birthday Tessa!!

Look at that cheesy little Tessa baby, oh, she looks so grown up!

Taking off in the Mickey Mouse airplane that we got for her

Their plot:
Quick- get Tessa's toys while she is not looking!

Tessa and her Momma (Abby) get ready to blow out the candle!

See how cute I am, and I am ready for some of that cake, please Momma?!
Who could resist that sweet little face?

Tessa gets her hands in there for some yummy birthday cake

Avery says, "Mmmmm"

Quent agrees with Avery

Jack enjoys his cake and ice cream too and was the cleanest of the 3 Brittkateers!

And since we are all about Reduce, Reuse, Recycle at our house -
of course the box had to be played with too!

Thanksgiving - super fun family time!

While we were getting ready to go to Thanksgiving dinner at Julie and Mike's house (Tom's sister and her husband) the boys thought they should get themselves all ready to go:

And they decided to wear Mom and Dad's shoes!

So, with our cute faces and awesome dance moves, we conned Uncle Mike into letting us watch The Wiggles in You Tube after our yummy dinner. It was a great dinner. Julie and Mike decided to try something different than turkey and they made prime rib, ham, and pulled pork sandwiches - which all turned out delicious. With all the delicious sides and desserts that everyone brought it was a fabulous meal!

Sierra lets Jack play Superman

Quent was excited for his turn too.

The boys love playing with Sierra and Brendan (I'm not sure how I missed a picture with Brendan) so they had a blast running around and getting all worn out in the process.

So much to be thankful for, but good times with our families is always one of the best!

Way Back When-esday

So, Cheryl at Twinfatuation titled her Way Back When-esday: "The Scared of Santa Edition" and in keeping with that theme, I thought this would be a good picture to join in on the way back fun!
This was Jack and Quent on Santa's lap at the mall Christmas of '07, they were 18 months old. (we did not even attempt a Santa shot their first christmas) As you can see, Jack is focused on entirely somewhere else - watching the elevator, and Quent is so on the verge of tears. This was taken literally seconds before he took a leap to get back to Momma (I was just outside the frame on his side) The girl taking the picture had taken maybe 2-3 shots and wanted to do more, but we figured this one was probably the best we were going to get and I just could not torture poor Quentin any longer. So, we paid our $arm+leg photo fee and called it good enough.

I am taking the boys to get their photo taken with Santa at a local studio next week, and thankfully they have a 'Santa out the window' option if Jack and Quent do not want to see Santa. Maybe we will even get some smiles this year!
