Back online

We are back online!

During Jack and Quent's birthday party on Sunday, the storm hit and knocked out our power (full story to be told in a later post :). We got power back on Monday at 3:00 pm, but found out that it also fried the modem (as well as the fuse in the AC unit outside and the microwave display that we have found out so far.)
So, the new modem was delivered yesterday, and after a long installation process we are back up and running.

Now I just need to catch up on all my favorite blogs and post some things myself! I will dump all the pics off my camera and do a birthday party post soon!

6 Words - I got tagged!

Okay, so I got tagged by Barb (A Tale of Two Twinkies), from my mother's of multiples group. And the funny thing is I had no idea what this tagged stuff was about, but I have seen it on others blogs, and here i am - Tagged! I feel so cool! (yes, I am a dork, who talks to toddlers all day, so this is exciting to me)

Here's the deal:

The Meme originated over an idea that was prompted by the book written by Larry Smith and Rachel Fershleiser, Not Quite What I was Planning: Six Word Memoirs by Writers Famous and Obscure. It's a compilation based on the story that Hemingway once bet ten dollars that he could sum up his life in six words.
His words were- For Sale: baby shoes, never worn.

Here are the rules:
1. Write your own six word memoir.
2. Post it on your blog and include a visual illustration if you’d like.
3. Link to the person that tagged you in your post and to this original post if possible so we can track it as it travels across the blogosphere.
4 .Tag five more blogs with links.
5. And don’t forget to leave a comment on the tagged blogs with an invitation to play!

So, Barb's was - Blessed with more than I'd imagined.
Pretty darn good, huh?

And I have been lamenting over what mine would be, I have come back to this post too many times to edit it before I published it so that I can actually have something that I like and that seems to fit.

It has really got me thinking. A lot has happened in the last few years. Super high, wonderful events and extreme low depths of tragedy. It's a lot to think about when you are looking to define yourself, your life, in six words. Much harder than I though it would be (evidenced by the fact that Barb sent me the tag on June 2nd and it is now the 5th)

Here's what I think is best:

Through despair, growth and happiness found

I think that it suits me and where I am now. While it pays homage to a past that will always be part of me and will always define part of me, it also expresses that there is a light at the end of my tunnel. I am closer to that light than I have ever been, and the happiness I have now is so much sweeter that I could have hoped for.

Whew!

I am fairly new to this blogging world and I really do not have that many blogging connections yet, so I will be forwarding this to 3 people (even though this is clearly breaking the rules, but I promise I would send it to more if I had more blog buddies that had not already been tagged with this)

1 - Amy (new blogger) from Here We Go Again
2 - Brooke from The Burger Blog

Can't wait to see what they come up with!

Ridin' bikes

These are pics that we took last week when we were at Gramma and Papa's. The boys had such fun riding and running around outside!

Ohhh, tubbull!

Here is a little conversation that the boys had today, it was so funny to hear them actually go back and forth with an actual, understandable conversation! It is happening more often and even though other people can't always understand all their words, I can and they are hilarious!

It starts with a shove from Quent.

Jack: "ahhhhh - no pooshing Tentin!" (his version of Quentin)

Quent: "no pooshing Jack!"

Jack now shoves Quent then runs out of the room.

Quent runs after him.

Quent: "wait Jack, wait Jack, wait Jack" (Quent says this a lot now when he is chasing after Jack, which Jack seems to be running from him a lot lately, you'll read why next.)

Both have fallen to the floor by the time I follow after, Jack whines and Quent laughs. (I can only assume Quent has body slammed Jack to the floor, only because that happens a lot)

Quent sees a broken Buzz Lightyear toy on the floor and quickly picks it up.

Quent looks to me: "Bus-ight-ear! wha happeen!?" (Buzz Lightyear, what happened)

Momma: "his helmet is broken off."

Jack : "uh-oh, boken" (uh-oh broken, he kind of sings it)

Momma: "who broke that buzz lightyear?"

Jack: "I do, I do" (again a little sing-songy)

Quent is visibly upset for Buzz Lightyear and turns angrily to Jack.

Quent: "Jack Dabid boken! No no Jack Dabid!" (Jack David, he calls him that because I do, cute, huh?)

By now Jack has run away to play with something else and is no longer interested in this line of questioning from Quent. Quent then turns to me, shaking his little head, clearly disappointed.

Quent: "tubbulllll Jack, ohhhhh, tubbulllllll." (trouble Jack, oh trouble - Papa (my Dad) says "Ohhhhh, you're in troubllllle" when they are being little rule-breakers at Gramma and Papa's house, so they have both adopted that little phrase from him :)

Just a day in the life of brothers, always someone gettin' in tubbull!
